The Story Behind Mafia of Baptiste

Mafia of Baptiste is more than just a brand, it’s a testament to family, ambition, and the power of believing in yourself. The name comes from a time when I was just a kid brainstorming a name for my Rocket League team with my cousin, Johnathan. Inspired by my love for mafia movies, their deep-rooted family values, and my own last name, Baptiste, the idea of Mafia of Baptiste was born. What started as a gaming alias at 13 during the pandemic quickly became something much bigger.

I had already been customizing shoes, jeans, and clothes, but in the 8th grade, I decided to turn that passion into something real, a brand. I set my first major goal: to make $5,000 that year. To some, it might not have been much, but to an 8th grader, it felt like everything. That same year, I pushed my love for photography even further, setting another goal to take 1,000 photos, giving birth to Photos by MOB.

Through trial, error, and pure dedication, I taught myself graphic design and photography, selling MOB hoodies until I hit my goal. But it was never just about the money, it was about the love of fashion, creativity, and building something of my own. Now, years later, I’ve taken this brand from an idea in my room to my first pop-up event in Houston, with bigger dreams ahead.

Mafia of Baptiste isn’t just a name. It’s a community, a movement, a reminder that with passion, consistency, and a strong foundation, whether that’s family, creativity, or the people who support you. You can build something timeless.
